About Us

Laramie Investment Company, Inc., was established in 1943 by E.G. "Ed" Jackson, to serve the insurance needs of the Wyoming community. His son, Gregg, joined the firm in 1962. Brad Jackson became the third generation to work for the company when he joined the firm in 2004

There are two kinds of agents: those who represent only one insurance company (captive or direct) and those who represent more than one insurance company (independent). Agents offering insurance through their agency for only one company often are referred to as captive or direct agents because the company they represent does not allow them to offer their customers competitive coverage or value alternatives.

By contrast, agents offering insurance through their agency for more than one insurance company are called 'independent' insurance agents, because they shop around for the best insurance values and coverages among a variety of competing companies. Independent insurance agents work with many different insurance companies to find you the best combination of price, coverage and service.
